Static web-pages is often a HTML documents stored as files in the file-system and made available by the web-server over HTTP/HTTP s. In contrast to dynamic web-pages are those which automatic generated by web-application.

Static web-pages are suitable for the contents that never or rarely need to be updated and Requires web development expertise to update site. However, maintaining large numbers of static pages as files can be impractical without automated tools. Static web-pages are Quick to develop, Cheap to develop and Cheap to host as compare to dynamic web-pages.

For example: Static only consist of HTML, CSS, JavaScript – no server-side programming in PHP, Ruby, Python, Java,. NET, etc..

On the other hand “dynamic” is often used to describe the use of JavaScript on the client side server, in the web-browsers.
